It's that time of the year again - when Apple holds their annual special event to announce new product launches. This year, it's going to be held on September 9, 10am PDT at Yerba Buena Center for the Performing Arts in San Francisco. Other than looking for product prices to decrease, There have been lots of rumors floating around on what magical new-generation gadgets we'll see:

iPods with larger screens and cameras? That would make them appeal to more, considering the competition that iPods face from their own sister product the iPod touch. Of course, the iPod touch itself will very likely get a camera.

Ah. The Apple tablet. People have been talking about it for years but some news sources are claiming that this time, it's for real. Some are excited about it; some aren't. Is it cool? Is it practical? Will it be expensive? Perhaps we should just wait another 72 hours and see if there will really be a tablet computer coming from Apple first, before running around in a frenzy asking these questions.

Last but not least, people are speculating that social networking tools will be integrated into iTunes - something I personally look forward to. Being able to share podcasts, music, video, or even recommend cool apps on Facebook and Twitter would encourage more users. Add a subscription-based, online play service like Spotify or Lala and I'm on for sure.

So, what do you fellow Apple lovers think? Do leave a comment and share with us what you're hoping to hear most on Wednesday!

The Evolution of iPod

Here's a short video of all the iPods ever made (excluding the special editions)...how many can you recognize? I'm proud to say I still own the 1st Gen iPod nano!

Just look at how thick the iPod used to be and how thin it is now. Aren't you thankful for technological advancement just so you can have 1000 songs in your back pocket?
